FEES, REFERRALS AND FUNDING

Referrals & Funding
Green Fern Psychology offers appointments for individuals accessing support through a Mental Health Care Plan, private health insurance, or self-funding.

Self-referrals are welcome, as are referrals from GPs and other health professionals. Clients wishing to access Medicare rebates under a Mental Health Care Plan will require a referral from their GP.

Fees
The fee for a standard 50-minute consultation is $250, payable in full at the time of the session. Clients with a valid MHCP and GP referral may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $98.95, which is paid back to the client once Medicare has processed the claim.

Clients using private health insurance or other third-party funding bodies are also generally required to pay the full fee upfront and claim any available rebate or reimbursement directly from their insurer or provider. As rebate amounts and claiming processes vary, clients are encouraged to confirm their eligibility and level of cover in advance.

Cancellation & Missed Appointments
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice where possible. This helps make consultations available to other people in the community who may be seeking support.

Late cancellations and missed appointments may incur the full session fee. Medicare and private health insurance rebates cannot be applied to cancelled or unattended appointments.
